Last week we went to hike Gunung Datok in Seremban and yes, I want to blog about this so badly haha!
Gunung Datok is the mountain that I couldn't finish climbing last time due to
PP 0.0.

This time i'm quite determined to ...AT LEAST ...finish the hike (even though slow) but little did i know that the challenges the 2nd time will be so much more!
It rained all the way to Seremban. Strange, in the wee hours of the morning.

We were thinking that maybe we won't get to hike (and I was formulating Plan B of having a feast in Seremban instead ;p) but when we reach the hill, bingo, so much cars!!!

So we took out our raincoat, umbrellas and whatsoever gears...

...and Fish actually found out he forgotten to bring one side of his shoe lace...and miraceously there's a tree nearby with rafia strings on it which Fish 'stole' to tie up his shoes 0.o

...thereafter, we proceeded to start our hike up Gunung Datok. Yup, in the rain... -.-"
The HikePC and me realised immediately that...HMM...topography of the trail has changed quite a bit since we last came (in April/May i think?)

Probably due to the rainy season...the trail was a bit slippery so it actually takes more effort to hike up every single step firmly.

Big steps and slippery steps. It's hard enough to go up and worse, to come down.

A lot of climbing and holding tree/tree roots too as we can't step on the stones or the roots just like that since it might be slippery...

R has done very well in taking step by step pictures of our hike, all the way up and down ;p

For detail information of how the hike is like, please kindly refer to
this link (hehe his my reference ;p)

It actually took us less than half an hour to cover the first half of the hill ie the steeper of the hill which I'm very very excited about! :0)

...coz the last time when I came (before I started training a bit), it took me one awful tiring hour and I didn't even manage to reach half hill!
So ya! Turned out our stamina did improve from our regular training these few weeks!!!
So happy kk!!! This justify my early morning and self-inflicted torturing for the last few Sunday mornings :>
That's why we need to take a Happy Pic at the half hill (even though we all look tired and drench from the rain and the hike 0.o)

Momentous Moment :p.
The Flora & FaunaWe saw a lot of weird crawly insects on the trail.
Me of course try to avoid all of them as fast as i can...
R clearly seemed to be much more fascinated by them compare to me ;p

Some very nice pics taken by R & CW of the plants there.

Beware of these indeed...especially when one want to grab a tree or plant to climb up. I think somebody 'poke' their fingers by doing the undo-able...

The trees are quite rooty...reminds me of Ta Phrom temple in Lara Croft movie :)
The Hike AgainIt took us another hour to reach this place 5 minutes to the hill top and by the time we reach there, everybody has became quite crappy haha
I was a bit annoyed because the webpage I referred to say that this other half will be an easy stroll...which well...I have too high expectations of how easy the stroll is...so I kinda ...u know...was a bit horrified to find that actually...it does have some level of steepness too...aiks...
Fish as usual went way before all of us and when I complained that I don't know which part of the trail is easy as the blog stated...he have to ask me quite surprisely & genuinely that ...
"Er...you mean which part of the trail is hard right? 0.0"

Haiz. So it's just me 0.0
The HillTopIt's a strange feeling to reach the hilltop.
It's like WHOA!!! Where did all these people come from?!!!

Suddenly there's a flat area and there's so many people there cooking instant mees, frying luncheon meat...etc...and you feel like you just walked into an orang asli settlement in the middle of the jungle :)
Since we didn't bring any food to cook, we decided to be far away from the 'temptations' and continue hiking up the ENORMOUS STONES there.

We have to climb up a fairly unstable metal stair to the top of these rock below.
Have I mentioned that the air was very cooling up there? We have our bread and take tons of pictures.

From there, we can have a pretty good view of the area around the mountains. The paddy fields, the farms, the mountains far away...

The rocks kinda fit each other in their own way and it's wonder how they become in the position they are today, perched on the high hills :)

The mission of course is to go higher and higher.

We waited for awhile (and to muster up some more courage) and take turns climbing up this...not too stable feeling staircase up to the highest rock!

Awfully happening up there. Almost 30 people is on the rocks, i think.

Just lazing.
Taking pictures...
Enjoying the view...
Do you know we saw 2 HORNBILLS flew past?!!!
I was quite impressed. I never thought I will see Hornbill except in Sarawak. Beautiful Bright Colour Hornbill...can you imagine that? :)
On the highest rock, one can have a 360 degrees view of the surrounding area.

They said that if you camp over on Saturday nights, you can even see A Famosa Melaka fireworks display...from the hill!!! WOW!

...and TA DA...guess what...we just found out that Malaysia is one of the Alien landing base too!
Look, we have our own eagle flying looking
CROP CIRCLE! ;p

YC insisted that he need some cool pictures from this 'cool' place in Malaysia ;>
So he took this dangerous risky picture!

Don't panic guys...the truth is...
Hehe...Sorry YC, just can't resist bursting the bubble ;p
The Hike AGAIN again
Soon, the sky started looking cloudy and everybody promptly hike down.
Ahhh...the hike down was even more tedious than the hike up as the hill is so slippery and our angle moving down is so much easier to slip...
So I shall forego that memory and move on to nicer memory thereafter...
The Seremban Feast!!! :>
Fish and YC have done us proud by managing to get some contacts in Seremban who kindly brought us to NICE FOOD....in this case, the famous one and only BBQ crab in Seremban!
Don't asked me how to get there because I have no idea...
But I do know the shop is in Lubok area of Seremban...so ah...you guys go google yourself la!

Yum yum Crab!
Ah...any meal after a torturous hike is always an enhanced pleasure hehe

Alright, as usual, a GROUP photo to emphasize 'we came, we saw, we conquer' ;p

Ah...good hike good hike...let's hope we actually get to go there and camp someday ! ^>*
