Nestum First Day Out

IR told me about this nice park @ Desa Park City where dogs are allowed.

We decided its time to take Nestum to see the real world and brought her for a long journey to the park in this very good weather morning :)

...and Nestum had her first friendly encounter with her own kind!

Maybe that's why they click (the other dogs all bark at her).

Nestum was anxious. Nestum was grumpy.

Nestum looked like she has been unnecessarily woke up from her sleep to be there (see arrows below).

Instead, all her pictures looked so grumpy that I've given up choosing a nice pic from that lot.

Tired after walking for one round.

I was curious enough to check out the label - ba ba ba...toning & moisturizing...la la la firmer and tighter....no saggy skin....da da da...coffee extract for shaping and toning...algae for firming...

Hmm...so i just stand there and use the shower foam and i'll have toned muscles???

PC suggested maybe I should rub the fat parts while I use the shower foam - you know, like you go massage centre, they put some essential oil which will make you slimmer and rub the fats really really hard or WRAP YOU like TUNA =.="

Funfair, I'm back!

The funfair near my house had been calling me since they are there a month ago.

At Christmas, I finally paid a visit :)

For toddlers below 3 years old. Really cute (really slow too) haha

This time round, the funfair was quite big.

They have haunted horse, they have the pirate ship...

...and Ferris Wheels (1 large one & 1 small one)...

Haiz...you guys have to just imagine the Ferris Wheel...

We took a ride at the BIG Ferris Wheel and the view from the topmost is beautiful.

Don't you think funfair feels very nostalgic?

The pictures I took kept reminding me of Super 8 movie haha...

In this picture below, we just lacked an alien spaceship in the dark sky :)

As the carriage door was pasted with yellow paper, we have real fun taking 'lomo' like pictures - through the yellow glass...

Luckily, we managed to take one more presentable picture together.

Our camwhore skills really need to improve man...

The ride was for RM6 and we were complaining when we go up that they must at least gave us 6 rounds to compensate for the ticket fees...

...who knows, we wished a bit too hard and the ride goes round and round for almost 10 rounds and we were really quite anxious at the end to ask the person to let us out coz it does get a BIT boring after so many rounds (-.-)"

Our last ride and the highlight is the flying chair? I think

It was so fast I can't seemed to get a clear picture of it...

Anyway, it kept turning round and round and different degrees...

...and really a bit nausea after the ride...

...and somebody KO right after we reached home (0.0)

OK. Looks like we would not be trying these kind of rides anytime soon.

One of my habits is to aimlessly search google and wikipedia when I'm bored - to read about things, people or places - according to my whims at that moment :)

It's nothing unusual, you know.

Just like people play angry bird when they are bored.

First Goo-Ki-Venture to share is on Warren Buffet.

Yup. One of the richest man in the world (but also very famous for being very frugal).

Do you know Warren Buffet was married and live together with his first wife (picture below with their children) for 25 years and live apart for the other 27 years?

His 2nd wife was asked to check on him by his first wife after she moved away and it eventually turned into ahem ahem something more

and

the best part is, all 3 are in good relations!
First wife attend social function with him.
2nd wife (not married until 1st wife die) stay and take care of him
and
they used to sign greeting cards together

Anyway, when the first wife die of cancer, he was so devastated that he couldn't attend her funeral.

Other than the wives, the 3 children have really interesting careers!

Daughter is into charity

(the kind that make a difference).

First son is a farmer

(the rich kind of course - apparently Warren Buffet bought the land where his first farm is and took rent from him haha)

Second son is a musician

(he wrote the scare and choreograph one of the dance in 'Dances with the Wolves' apparently)

My new year eve was spent at the Palace of the Golden Horse.

With it's classical decos...

...and horse themes frescoes & paintings...

There even have a golden chariot pulled by golden horses right at the entrance of the hotel...

Interestingly, inside the chariot, there's a girl/boy?, a monkey and a bear ???

WHY? Fengshui?

We went out for our new year dinner.

TK kindly treated (actually, usually he treats, usually volunteered by TQ haha)

I also managed to have my tang yuan which I missed out that day..hehe...

We were supposed to join the countdown at Mines Shopping Centre ...well, until we found out, there wasn't going to be any countdown apparently 0.0

So, we walked and we looked for GREEN stuffs (green is our new year theme next year).

...and me and YO, after struggling REALLY REALLY hard whether to get 'FAT' McD Ice Creams as dessert finally succumb to our temptation...

At midnight, the fireworks started!

OK...maybe not so serious this time :)

Last day of the year & a time for reflection.

My resolution last year was very practical - so my success rate also NOT BAD! haha

As below: -

1. Reach the Peak. (DONE)

2. Enter a Treasure Hunt with the Sistaz.(DONE)

3. Save More Money.(OK, not as much as I hope for, but more)

4. Visit Sunway Lagoon :)(DONE)

5. Project SOS to launch!(DONE)

6. Do the KL Double decker bus trip (Cancelled due to practicality)

7. Get a polaroid camera hehe (Still pondering)

8. Make the right choice about work.(Ok, so far so good *fingers crossed*)

9. Loved & be loved the right way. (OK, so far so good)

10. Everybody I care be happy, be healthy & be safe (So far so good, please continue)

So...other than the polaroid camera which is 0% success rate - the rest has somewhat some progress :)

I think this is my most successful resolution so far haha.

Next year will be my last year in my 20s & I hope I can make it counts, at least for things I can control.

Some preliminary ideas as below ;p

1. Get my scuba diving certificate.

2. Participate in Penang Bridge Run.

3. Run a half marathon.

I just watched Twin Peaks movie @ YouTube.

Well, minus the CLIMAX scene because youtube apparently banned it for "Graphic Violence" -.-"

Quite a weird movie.

The actress so drama at every scene.

A lot of scenes defy logic and quite 'duh'.

But i do want to continue watching.

So I guess they must have get something really right Haha.

I wonder where I can get the TV Series.

Malakoff 12km Run

I completed my longest run for 2011. Malakoff 12 km run!

The crowd in the morning - and we noted most people look darn fit! Serious!

The girls were to start first and I think they put the wrong side for the 'Start' and 'Finish' haha...it looks like we are starting at the finish line....

This route is from Bukit Kiara to Science Centre to all the way up the hilly route to 2 laps round Bukit Damansara.

Before we started the rest, we heard a very fit uncle told another very fit uncle that "ya, we all come and join this race because its the MOST challenging hill marathon"

G R E A T !

Me & YM after the first attempt of running up the first slope decided thereafter that we will REFUSE to run during sloppy area haha...coz it make no difference to the distance and the speed -.-"

YM came out with this great idea - to prepare ourselves to enter the veteran category once our age touched the baseline. Then, we will have a competitive advantage as we are the youngest! haha...

...anyway, back to this race, with at least 4 steep slopes, thank goodness we still make it in time ! -

Qualifying time 2 hours for our category - our time 1:43 hours hehe

My longest km run thus far! Here's my ugly but to-the-point pic of how I felt at the Finish line haha.

We collected our goodie bag...

..and found out there's free voucher for 'One Meal & One Dessert Only'

Turned out they actually have 2 desserts to choose from - Tau Foo Fa or Cendol.

I chose Tau Foo Fa which I almost spilt all within minutes later...*shy*...

Apparently the first guy completed within 38 mins (Actually while we were at the first lap end, he passed us after completing 2nd lap 0.0). Amazing!

I have quite a good sleep until I was awaken by TQ who couldn't sleep well because TK stole all her comforter 0.o

Since TQ did not stop talking to me after she wake up, I decided to be sensible and not try to sleep anymore Aiz.

Toiletries provided by the hotel were quite complete.

Though it is not as high quality as Westin (which give Colgate toothpaste), it was packed very nicely :) and they even gave vanity kit! ...which is kinda rare even in 3 star hotel out there.

Turned out EO they all woke up quite early too and I proceeded to explore their room with my Munchkin ;p

See, their room was of a different style compare to us!

Whilst ours are wood and oldish kinda China floor tile, their room is bamboo and wooden floor :)

We woke up TK who was really quite successful in pretending to sleep until then...

...and we went for our breakfast (yup, breakfast for 2 included each room).

We were all speculating about the breakfast the day before.

With TK suspecting just Nasi Lemak & me suspecting just some toast and scramble eggs...

Thanks to the hyper low expectation, we were fairly surprise to see the breakfast served :)

They have toast (you know, the triangle one with sardine packed fully inside), eggs, meehoon, hainese chicken rice (let me repeat, HAINESE CHICKEN RICE k)...

They have yogurt, juice..

They have xiao long bao...

Fruits & cereal...

Ah...other than the food, I found this cosy attic room (by using a really antique spiral staircase to go up) where one can have breakfast at!

I so want to bring a book and sit there and read my heart out...or have a girlie long chat session here...

Too bad TK doesn't think much of this cozy place and decided to have breakfast downstairs -.-"

Anyway, back to food, the hainese chicken rice is niiiicccceeeee....especially the ginger sauce tasted really quite home cook hehe...

(I may be bious though as you know, I rarely get chicken rice for breakfast tsk)

As we need to go back early, TQ quickly collected her oh-so-unique beaded shoe from the Si Fu.

...and that's it...our very short so-called family trip ;)

A lot of things doesn't exactly turned out as plan but hey, glad everyone enjoy the hotel, the food and the company.

(P.S. For the love of cendol & rainforest shower, EO & BIL decided to stay on until checkout time & I heard BIL bathed 4 times @ the rainforest shower! Strong indeed thy love!)

Family @ Courtyard @ Heeren, Malacca

...which was so jam on weekends, it was almost evening before we all arrived 0.0

Humble abode for the night: Hotel Courtyard @ Heeren.

I have always ALWAYS wanted to try Courtyard@Heeren as it was ranked No.2 amongst the boutique hotels in Malacca.

Situated paralel to Jonker Street - it's a Baba Nyonya House like shoplot which was converted to an accomodation.

This was the first time TQ & TK stayed in a boutique hotel (rather than you know, normal hotel like Equatorial) and they were anxious!

Honestly, I was quite worried that if the hotel doesn't turned out as review said so, TK will never EVER step into any boutique hotel anymore.

Instead, he had asked me repeatedly 'Isn't Renaissance cheaper?""Do you check Equatorial?""What kind of place we are staying in?"

Thankfully, Courtyard@Heeren turned out quite fine :)

The staffs especially were very friendly and helpful.

I like their bathroom design best.

Ya, it's open concept - open ceiling - which is a bit daunting (can't help kept trying to strain my eyes to see whether there are hidden cam while bathing ;p)

But it's quite nicely design with rainforest shower and all.

A point to note however is the fact that the open concept really open up to the extent that there is no real solid wall between the room and the toilet 0.o

Yup, its kinda a see-through and smell-through hahahah....Not very badly but a bit...

So not the best place to go if you are sharing with people you are not comfortable with.

TQ's friends had been telling her all about Malacca beaded shoe before she came and true enough, she was, very very anxious to go out and find out the moment we reached -.-"

Turned out A Lan Beaded Shoe is right opposite our hotel.

TQ went there and picked her choice and the Si Fu there promised that they can cater to her size and get it ready by tomorrow morning before we check out!

Since this is the 3rd time I come to Malacca this year ( I know 0.0), I don't really need the map to guide me around JOnkeR haha.

But nonetheless, I thought this map given by the hotel is GOOD and deserves a picture for the effort taken hehe

For dinner, we decided to go for nyonya food.

The nearest one was just a stone throw away ...

Yup, Nancy's Kitchen near Jonker.

But looks like it is also a stone throw away from many hotels/hostels and I have to line up about 1 hour to get a place 0.o

Useful Tip: GO Before 6pm!

Ironically, for the many times I come to Malacca this year and last, I have never tried the Baba Nyonya nor the Portugis food.

This time round everybody was determined to have some local food.

I wonder how it is during weekdays. Really.

Oh btw, amazingly, with my point and shoot camera, I managed to capture the eclipse!

Did you see it? It was a full eclipse that night.

I, as a mini amateur tour guide, brought them to the Malacca Waterfront which I always thought was very pretty.

Crazy crazy queue that night for the river cruise.

Since everybody's a bit tired, we adjourned back to the hotel lobby to sit and chit chat.

EO said that the lobby smelled like Bali/any spa.

Very holiday relaxing feel.

I love the oldish quaint feel of the lobby.

Nestum @ 2 months is a fiesty little puppy.

She likes company and gets distracted very fast :)

We are still trying to toilet train her (with a bit success this few days) and to teach her 'NO'.

Psst, she's at her teething stage and trust me, that's an annoying stage.

Everything except her chew toys are chew toys 0.0

I have ran out of treats so training was a bit difficult.

She's very good at 'Sit' and semi good at 'Stay' now. 'Hand' was O K...

...and the cutest thing I just found out is...

She will actually sit there without moving when I whipped my camera out!

Well...but don't take too long to take the picture though -0-

If its more than Nestum's attention span, then the same rule applies...

Everything is a chew toy.

Jalan-Jalan @ KL Town Centre

It was Stomp day.

We have a BIT of drama at the start because we were late to go in and we were not allowed to go in until the first 5 mins and since we are not allowed to use torchlight and we need to be completely silent, we spend another 5-10 mins scrambling around in croaching position and whispering to people at the side to find out what no their place is before we scramble again 0.o

But as my last post has indicated, it was a GREAT show. It was!

The adults laughed, the children cackles. Everybody joined in the clapping. Quite an interactive performance.

After the show, OO said she is very hungry so we went to Pavillion to ease our hunger.

I never visited the Tokyo Street yet at Pavillion though I saw it in the newspaper.

Report of Annual Chat-a-thon

We managed to have our second Chat-a-thon @ Westin Hotel, partly in conjunction of wedding, partly in conjunction of birthday.

I have never stayed in Westin before. I thought it was very expensive.

Luckily this time round we get the wedding rate.

The room was pretty nice, the bed especially so!

Apparently, the bed is called the All Heavenly Bed and you can actually purchased it from Westin Hotel!

It is really comfortable. I dunno why but I fully agree to the 'All Heavenly' part after i slept there for one night haha

Since it was partly in conjunction of a wedding, we went for a dolled up session at Fahrenheit mall nearby.
The A-Saloon was kinda cool - you can access internet while doing your hair - there was one guy facebooking, whilst this lady is watching movie online 0.0

I think I like dolling up once in awhile as much as i dislike dolling up everyday...if that make sense :)
It was D&Y wedding and I like their "Just Married" sign.

During cocktail, we were asked to go take funny pictures at the funny pictures booth...
...which was really fun!

The bride and groom have bought some party accessories and set up a booth for them. There are photographers waiting there who will take your pictures with your friends after donning the party stuffs...

Very very shortly, they will print out the pictures for everyone in the picture, place it into a nice envelope and pass to us.

The set up for the wedding was kinda classy. I guess it comes with the lighting and the cake.

Our Chat-a-thon started after dinner of course.

It was nice to chat nonsense, well, until the next room guy knocked at our connecting door and say "I WANT TO SLEEEEEEEPPPPP HERE" in a very strong indian accent 0,0...

Anyway, I realised that our chat duration ended much faster than last year - due to us dozing off inadvertantly at the ALL HEAVENLY bed ;p...

I suspect next year chat-a-thon will be even shorter. You know...staying up...really doesn't go the same direction as age move.

Not to forget, the breakfast!
As somebody who really treasure my breakfast time, I think every hotel review should come with some description of the breakfast served 0.0
I guess the thing that strike out to me about Westin's breakfast is - they have a separate 'bakery shop' looking section which serves pretty healthy range of breakfast choice haha

...which have bread (of course) and some really healthy yogurt (a lot of flavour)...

It tasted really really healthy so don't bother going for it if you like your food very er...well rounded...
BTW, the jam is served in miniature jam bottle. Nice ha? :>
Last but not least, for EV's birthday, I did a copycat and got her some Delectable cookies! ;p

Why the heck do they let us in?

We went and watched Arthur Christmas yesterday (btw, I quite like it ^.^).

They let us in before the earlier movie finished 0.0.

We went in and saw its all dark and the Muppets are playing (we thought its the trailer) and we thought we were late.

Then we noticed that a row of kids are sitting at our places. Happily sitting at our places still laughing at Muppets.

PC insisted that's our place and try to ask the kids to move.

Of course the kids stared blankly at us.

We stood there (blocking people), wondering what to do...and suddenly...

"THIS IS STILL THE MUPPET MOVIE."

We saw a lady - the Children mother apparently - wondering where she go just now...

...and they continue sitting there watching the rest of MUPPETS...

...and we have to climb to another empty seat to sit and wait...0.o

PC was prettty annoyed.

TQ's frens brought her here for her birthday lunch and she, thereafter, insisted that we must all visit here too -.-"

AWet Thai Garden apparently has a famous branch in KL. Is it?

This Kajang branch is an attap house setting beside an old mining pool.

The food is not bad but the service was not good - slow and black face plus some flies? 0.o

We have Pumpkin Pudding.

...and this strange platter which feels really like very authentic thai food haha

Yup, you put everything in a leaf and sauce too and wrapped them up and throw them in your mouth.

Quite an exotic taste.
We also ordered the coconut tomyam which is tomyam soup with coconut meat.

I like it.
The last dish which we waited pretty long was the BBQ Platter.

The BBQ chicken is nice! The rest...o k.

The whole eating experience was average for me.

Not bad but not wow.

However, there is something that really caught my attention.

The beautiful sunset view while I enter the restaurant.

Babysitting weekend :)

It was the long weekend and I spent it babysitting (which honestly, really took up a lot of time 0.0)

PC dog got a puppy. It's only 3 weeks old and still wobbles while it walks.

We thought it is best to get him to the vet - get him proper food since he's not liking the milk given to him...and also to check how old it is haiz.

Dr say he is 3 weeks old and he's really really tiny.

I called him Tiny hahaha...and I bet he's going to hate the name when he grew up ;p

He seemed to like the dog biscuits quite a lot although we have to mashed it up for him.

Get stronger soon k!!!

TK & TQ found a puppy for themselves this week too!

It's called Nestum because it's nestum colour? :)

I called her 'Her Royal Highness" because she has Princess attitude (公主病) ;p

TQ decided to call her 'Nessie'

So her official name currently is - Her Royal Highness Nestum "Nessie" Thang.

She acts really girl and grumble and whines when she doesn't get her way or just whenever she feels like it :)

She hates the cage and is yelping for us to get her out for at least 5 mins ...haiz...

..and the moment somebody came out, Nestum is a Happy Dog =.="

Quite instantaneous.

TQ said that the younger generations are like that, they have no shame of telling you their displeasure. I never know this saying applies to dog too =.-"

Sleeping with the slippers after tired yelping - yaaa...the slippers are her make-up siblings currently 0.0 Think in a pack they are used to sleeping on other dog's stomach.

I think she is teething so she's been chewing everything dirty that she can get near too...

TQ's plants leave, soil, bicycle tyres, irons, slippers, mat...haiz...

(...and in case you are wondering, she does have chewtoys 0.0)

I have read up the synopsis for all twilight series and movies and I have complete the A to Z guide on Twilight by the Star paper yesterday!

I'm sure EV would be proud of me too haha

Hopefully they don't make out too long (which from the trailer it looks like they would). I might fall asleep. Haiz.

Village Roast Duck @ Bangsar Village 1

It's kinda embarassing to have a food post after my 'bikini-bod-motivation-post'.

But...ya...i just clean up my photos and realised that I do have a LOT of yummilicious food post from early November (i.e. NB: The Past - I'm really trying to follow the diet to some extent now 0.0) due to the many birthdays.

Let's start with TK's birthday eat-out @ Village Roast Duck, Bangsar Village 1!

TK & TQ were the first to arrive and they ordered these: -

Very nice taufu - but it's not actually taufu - inside there's some meat like yong tau fu :)

The Four Heavenly King - which tasted really good.

(A bit random, but I love brinjals ;p)

Apparently Uncle Sam's favourite - chasiew and siew yok!

Looked and tasted as good ^.^

...and TQ's intention of bringing us there...

Crispy Duck appetizer (but they served it so late...it is almost dessert time ...)
This is very appetising!

YO who thinks duck is smelly melly also approved of it!

Amazing!

Lastly - the Mango Dessert - which is again a pleasant surprise as the orange yellow syrup actually taste like mango yogurt - tasted very healthy :>

It was one of those meals when every dish seemed to come out right.

I would really like to recommend it strongly, but since it is a bit expensive - apparently each dish cost about RM20 over and 1/2 duck cost RM30 over ...and the mango dessert is like RM8 one 0.0...(but the others justify it by saying in Bangsar everything cost like that, which is a good point...)

In anyway, I decided to just recommend it strongly...when you would like to go for a treat and you have a crowd (so you can order more and have more people to share out ^.^).

One of my daily routine of these days are to browse Groupon & MyDeal daily promotions. Honestly, quite interesting the new ideas/new places/new products you can find there...like herbal pad...and ...silicon bra with proper lace like designs on it...

There was a pretty cheap Mayfair promotional voucher & since YM has been bugging me to accompany her for awhile, we bought the vouchers and voila, we went to our 1/3 session ;p

The consultant there will take time to check your body, questioned you about your lifestyle and recommend additional packages, clearly not those in the promotional voucher we bought, to you..

...and yes, unless you are very strong, you will usually come out feeling very fat, ugly and unattractive and that there's no hope anymore for you unless you take up their package -.-"

Anyway, check out their form above - even their drawings is of a normal sized lady with big bottom...very in theme...

Anyway, other than the cheap 3 times supposingly treatment we bought, we were given this LOW CARBO DIET to follow.

Don't be mistaken, the breakfast is either or - not a list of all things you should eat 0.0

So you can only have 2 items from the list - for eg, if you have one egg, you can only have one sausage...

BOO HOO HOO...there goes my Big Breakfast habit *sob*

I finally tested Munchkin which EO gave me for my birthday :)

Munchkin is a game which brings you the essence of the dungeon-crawling experience.

You have a dice and 2 sets of cards.

Pretty simple.

We tried reading the rules but gave up and went for youtube - 1 to 1 tutorial hahahah...

Really was much clearer, though i hope its the correct way to play.

Aim: to reach Level 10 first!

The motive is to fight monster, loot treasure and climb the levels fast ...;p

Sounds more like an online game right?

When each player round starts, you have to open a card from this stack of 'DOOR' card.

Ya...imagine you are in a dungeon and you come to a door...what will be lurking behind it?

Sometimes nothing...at times safe things but most of the time, MONSTERS of course! Of differing levels.

The potted plant is, for obvious reason, the lousiest monster haha

...and if you are lucky, you may get this card, which says "Out to Lunch"

My favourite monster card : LAWYERS

Yes, hehe, we ARE scary monsters ;>

You will kill the monster if your existing level plus the level in your items cards, class cards etc are higher than the monster card opened.

Oh yes, they have class card but i realised i forget to take some pictures of them.

Wizards, thieves, clerics etc...each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

...and yes, you may get or not get a Class card. it's according to your luck...

The instruction states REALLY CLEARLY above

"If you have no Class card in front of you, you have no class..." ;p

Items Card are like direct one...like bow with ribbon..

(Note: +4 bonus meaning if you have this card and you want to use it, you can +4 to your level.)

Some of the Items are in potion form like this Friendship Potion where all monster becomes your friends ;>

...and 'Divine Intervention' Card which is really powerful because it's, you know' DIVINE INTERVENTION righhttt...

I joined my first group marathon.

YO, me & OO - for the IMU medical faculty Aids Run :)

We thought it's just a 5km marathon but gosh - there's games in the middle - where you have to get your info right on AIDS disease before you can continue running...

...and most embarassingly, I got very awful bad stomachache and I have to go to the toilet halfway. (o.o) First time k!!! Never in any marathons i joined...haiz

Utterly useless group member - me 0.o

...and after that, i got a bit lost...then try to catch up...then try to complete...a bit at a daze...

Ahhhhhh....so embarassing.....

I shall endeavour not to join any group marathon until i'm fitter!

Tao @ Sunway Giza is a Jap buffet restaurant @ the price of RM62 + + per person for dinner.

Halloween turned out to be a great time to go.

We were greeted by Mr. Snow Man (who happens to be a namecard holder if you are wondering)...

...and have to go through a 'ghostly' tunnel into the restaurant (since its Halloween - you know)...

Beautiful melodramatic chandeliers...

Cute Halloween pumpkins? Or are they Halloween sashimis? 0.o"
...with a big big Mr. Skeleton beckoning us to come in and enjoy the food ;p...
The food displayed were lesser than Jogoya but customers are allowed to order from the menu as much as they want...
We had sashimi, abalone, mussels, teppanyaki, handroll, sushis, lamb chops...

It was a VERY vErY filling dinner. Very ( I still feel awfully bloated now 0.0)

Flowers

TQ very excitedly came up and told me the day after Panda left that Panda had sent us 3 flowers.

Yup, this water plant that TQ had been growing had never grown flowers. She had tried fertiliser, all kinds of things, but the plant had never even grew a bud.

Coincidently, on the day they came back from the pet hospital, TQ noticed that a flower is growing.

...and since then, we have 6 flowers till now.

6!!!'

6 beautiful purple flowers which last not more than 2 days each :)

TQ said Panda sent the flowers because he knows she is always happy when her flowers blossomed.

I don't know how true is that but it does cheer TK & TQ up tremendously since they are excitedly betting yesterday morning how many flowers would Panda sent...

I hope the flowers will continue growing :)

Panda was put to sleep on 23 October 2011.

He has not been able to urinate for at least 2 days. Have difficulty pooing and have no appetite.

Doctor diagnosed him as having prostrate cancer with a tumour so big that it is blocking his urinal tract.

Shocked. Anger. Acceptance. Guilt.

It really feels a bit surreal that people/pet you care of passed away and you find yourself unable to cry hysterically.

I can still joke & laugh about other things.

Except that when I'm in the lrt or doing nothing alone, memories will come and all the 'what ifs' and tears will start spilling out surprisingly...

I understand fully now what people meant when they say people left and left a void in your heart.

Poor TK & TQ was with Panda all the way, especially TK.

It really strike me that they are not growing any younger and traumatic things like that really can take a toll on their health nowadays.

Hopefully TK will get well soon.

I thought I'll write a memorial for Panda.

An orbituary.
I never write one before and have no idea how it is supposed to be written...but here I go...

Panda (11/9/04 - 23/10/11)

Panda was born on September 11.

He was merely 6 weeks old when we separated him from his whole family and brought him home to ours.

His mum was black and white and his grandpa was black and white.

When he came to us, he was black and white too - hence the name Panda.

When the brown fur started coming out, I remember being quite angry with the mother for consummating with a brown dog rather than a black and white dog.

Panda was never the smartest of dog.

He knew only limited tricks - hand, sit, stay, lie, roll over, come, up & 1/2 of fetch.

He forget most of them (or choose to ignore them) by the time he's 2 years old and even for those he remember, it's usually only reserve to impress stranger or people he likes or those holding nice food.

Panda was an excellent guard dog who guard the whole row of houses.

Ironically, he was also generally scared of most things movable and bigger than him.

We always wonder whether he was barking for help or barking to alert us.

Panda was extremely protective of his family.

He is very clear that his world centered around us and expect us to center, literally, around him.

We are his pack or are we his pet?

Sometimes I wonder whether he thinks he is human.

Panda was with us for 7 years and 1 month.

A loyal and comforting son to TK and TQ.

A fun and mischievous (occasionally grumpy) sibling to us.

We fought, we make up, we squabble, we have fun.

I heard all dogs go to heaven.

If heaven exist, I hope Panda will be blessed with friends, good owners, families and GREAT FOOD.

I hope there is no illness or suffering in heaven and Panda will be in no pain or discomfort anymore.

May you rest in peace Panda.

I've learned that it takes extra effort to help somebody. But the first guy who walk past so near...it's quite shocking to have no reaction...

1st observation: Early Morning Activities is so much lesser at the groom's place compare to the bride's house haha

At the auspicious time, we reached the bride house!

I was bored. So I took pictures of the teddies...

Check out this sweet video! Old couple went to Mayo clinic for checkup and decided for fun to play a duet.

They genuinely looked like they enjoy each other company even after 62 years of marriage and the old man is 90 years old!

It's awfully funny to see how many status updates are on "RIP" and Steve Job's quotes (i'm sure all these quotes had been around for awhile and nobody cares :>) in Facebook & it is even funnier to see PK's status asking everybody to move on and stop posting "RIP" quotes 0.o

I'm going to jump into the bandwagon now hehe.

Panda 1st Encounter with the 'Same' Kind

It's the annual Dogathon @ UPM & finally, we managed to bring Panda there (with TK giving us all kinds of disapproving looks)!

Panda, as usual, was Drama. To be fair, it is his first time furthest from home.

He started whining the moment he got into the car (probably thinking we are sending him to the pet hotel, the vet or the grooming centre)...

He kept fidgeting all the way, stepping on me, trying to jump at the window when we stop at the toll (actually, come to think of it, the toll person must be amused to see a dog struggling and a lady struggling to stop the dog from jumping behind the car while the driver calmly pay toll...)

The moment we came out of the car - he peed, he pooped, then he pee again at a trees full with red big ants and by the time we pulled him away, quite a bit of ants had got onto him and me and YO have to start yelling and pulling all the ants off him promptly =.=

Then he started the 'I-Do-Not-Want-To-Move-Anymore' stunt ("Stunt").

Remember this stunt of Panda below. It was repeated numerous time throughout the day when Panda decided he doesn't want to walk anymore.

Thankfully, he does not disturb other dogs and people.

Instead he tried hard to ignore them. But, hey, at least he didn't cause trouble...

Trying to figure out what games we can involved Panda.

After analysing, we decided there is none.
We tried to take some pictures with the Dogathon theme setup.

This year theme is 'Doggie in Wonderland' :)

We try to get Panda to look at the camera.

Panda wasn't really - er - amused.

My fav dog of the day - Mr. Saint Bernard.

Panda was so stressed he couldn't drink nor does he succumbed to treats.

Later, we checked out some shops.

(Haiz we should checked out more shops because they are giving a lot of goodies away apparently)

Then on our way to rest at the other side of the road, Panda started the Stunt every few steps he took.

So to get to the resting place takes forever...

YO decided to carry him and some lady at the side of the road was so surprised, she shouted to his dad - "DADDY, look at the BIG DOG being carried" -.-

A lot of dogs and owners were resting at the pavement.

This dog is way overweight!

We tried to seduce Panda with some Cookies.

But with no avail. This tiny Poodle came quite quickly to me for the treats though.

...and Panda is FINE! So rare that he actually shared food. Must be quite stressed.

YM & Dong Dong called...

In this case, YM looked more tired haha coz Dong Dong is too active.

Dong Dong, being a very friendly dog, tried to smell at Panda thrice.

Panda after realising that Dong Dong will not go away if he ignore him, started to growl at DOng Dong...haiz...thrice too...
The owners doesn't get much chance to talk whilst the 2 dogs smell and growl...

Panda was exhausted by the time Dong Dong left and found himself a seat!

It was only a one hour trip. But I think it's the longest time forever for Panda.

By the time he went back in the car, he was so quiet, one doesn't realised there's a dog in the car haha...

OK - Panda - next year we go again, ok? ;p

Touch & Go Rebate & Redeem!

I just realised that Touch n Go will rebate us certain percentage of our usage per month if we are frequent users.

Instead, I just redeemed RM99 for September and I'm excited!

RM99 is quite a lot!

So if you are frequent users (I think they required you to have exceed certain number of usage per month), do go check this out from the touchngo counters.

BTW, if you don't redeem the money, heard it'll ...er...get burn every month...so ya...do something....why let touchngo makan ;p

Belated Mid-Autumn Feast

Since the last steamboat was quite successful, A&W decided to 'share' their premise with us again for another steamboat session - with more people and more food of course!

A few people is supposed to buy the food and we share the costs later.
But turned out almost everybody brought something + the food initially planned to be bought...

So, ta da!!!! Another majestic feast!

The soup-bringer was a bit late - so we all have to wait awhile with our hungry stomach.
By the time everything is ready, everybody couldn't wait to stuff ourselves haha
The yummilicious curry soup - only lacked mee hoon...

See...we were all very absorbed with the series.
Doctors operation movies are so heart-wrenching.
After food, we started a monopoly deal game (PC is still absorbed by the tv series, ahem)...

They started a major game - very authentic looking mahjong players...

...and we played until its time to go home ...la la...

Extreme Challenge @ Skytrex

After my display of awful organising skill during the hiking trip to Gunung Datok, I finally murked up the courage to organise another event (but a much easier one) last Saturday...

Extreme Challenge @ Skytrex, Taman Cahaya!

Between colleagues and friends and friends of friends, we managed to get 19 of us. Mostly first timers. Mostly people I'm unfamiliar with :)

Everybody was quite punctual & before no time, we were putting on our harnesses and getting ready for the safety talk.

During the safety talk, they will give you a mini trial of what skytrex is about and of course, to let us know how to hook and unhook our harnesses (which is very important)

Everybody GOOD? :) Looks like...

First obstacle is to climb up this 14 metre iron stairs and to flying fox down to the other part of the jungle.
Waiting waiting...
Some of the engineers were super fast while climbing the ladders...
Turned out they have to climb up 80 metres at the cement plants to do work a lot of times, so this is easy peasy -.-"

Unfortunately, the photographer is behind me and we were the last 2 ....
Oh btw...this obstacle slowed everybody down. I think most people find this the hardest one.

So back to my story, unfortunately photographer is behind me, so most of the time, you have to see pictures of my backside hahahah....
The extreme challenge does get a bit physically challenging if you haven't been exercising for awhile.

SO ya...good to have some kind of support system around...we all need them at times to complete the obstacles.
Our uber cool gloves which was very 'scarred' by the end of the challenge.

The last obstacle which was very much easier...
The obstacle that we all really want to go on haha but were not part of the challenge...
...and yes, we completed! ...(the ending is a bit not sincere compare to the big thrill) ...

Oren Sport Run 2011

Charity Run always seemed to have the most uncreative name :)

Remember my Chicken Run a few months back?

Well, this time round I joined a welfare run called Oren Run -.-"

(actually, I have no idea till now why it is called oren run)

Oren Run was a 7 km run around Bandar Botanic Klang - starting and ending at Jusco Bukit Tinggi.

Since the land was all flat, we managed to reach by 55 mins and got our finisher medal hehehehehe

The new people I ran with this time round :)

...and of course, scrumptious bak kut teh @ Klang after the run!

How can we miss this right? ;p

Buying a House: Learning Curve

We saw a really nice Duplex that day.

With 1800sqft built up and really nice interior design.

Simple and modern.

Wanted to buy it but turned out the owner doesn't want to sell to us in the end. A bit disappointed, but what to do...next one would be better? ;p

Anyway, in the haste of getting the house, we were forced to learn a thing or two about house shopping.

Thought I would like to share it in this post :)

(Also, it may serve as a reminder for me too)

Find out how much loan the bank is willing to borrow you based on your salary.

Easier for you to gauge which house you can afford.

While budgeting for the house, remember to budget in the legal fees and stamp duties. It will be a percentage of your house price i.e. the more expensive your house, the more legal fees you pay.

So if you are buying a RM500,000 house, you should have at least RM80000 at hand - RM50000 for 10% deposit and around RM21000 for legal fees.

I don't exactly know how property agent works in Malaysia.

But the house we were interested in, the property agent told us the procedure is the agency give us a letter of intent and we provide the 3% deposit bank draft, issued to the property agency name.

Thereafter the property agent will only bring your bank draft to the owner and see whether the owner is interested to sell you the property.

Is this the normal practice?

Isn't it very easy to fleece people money if the agent and the property owner collaborate?

Hmm...

Something to think about. We asked the agent to check with the owner whether he is interested before we produced the bank draft and we don't hear much from the agent since. 0.0

Always check out the house first. Especially if it is a 2nd hand house.

Sometimes picture and reality doesn't really match.

Actually most of the time it doesn't.

The house may be priced at 1,000,000 but the bank valuer may value it less. Yup, the bank will value the property itself.

In that event, the danger is that you may have to fork out the extra monies if the bank is only willing to borrow you up to a lesser amount.

So make sure you have an escape provisions in the documents you have signed or don't commit to anything you can't afford.
